Short Bio:
I was born in Roanoke Rapids, but moved to and lived with my family in Henderson before starting grammar school. I started grammar school in Roanoke Rapids, moved to Ahoskie 3rd through 5th grade, and moved back to Roanoke rapids. I worked part at timberlake drugstore, where I met the famous Earl Teliga. Then I started part time in radio in 1969 at WCBT radio. It was a difficult time for me when I was told by then station manager dick jones, to get a real job because I would never make it in radio. With my self esteem ripped apart stomped on and discarded in the nearest trash receptacle, I decided to try my hand at textiles. cannon mills in Kanapolis n.c. that lasted three months. Thought I’d try radio again, came back to Roanoke Rapids. Went to work at WSMY radio

Part time. This turned into a full time gig. Worked for two years. Wasn’t making much money so hired on with a co. called GTE installing Telephone exchanges for local phone companies. Made good money but didn’t like the job. I then went to work for a new country music station in 1973 called WPTM. Later got an offer to work at station WSFL in New Bern. A big 100,000 watt blow torch in eastern nc. Worked their for about a year or so, and got an offer from a radio station in Burlington nc, WBBB/WPCM. Worked their for about a year. Then received and offer from a radio stations in Winston Salem NC WKZL/WAAA, another 100,000 watt station that was rocking the triad. After working there for a little over a year things got shaky moved back to Burlington to WBBB. And finally on SEPT. 11th 1978 I moved back to Roanoke Rapids to work once again at WPTM. Started doing the talk show in spring of 1980. It started as a 30 minute show, and has grown into what you hear every morning between 6am-9am mon thru fri. I have enjoyed some 9-10 co-hosts during that time. I guess I just wear em out. I don’t mean to. As best as I can figure this is what the Lord would have me do. So here I am.
